The V&A Waterfront is one of Cape Town's most iconic locations providing lots of interesting opportunities for the perfect shot – no matter the weather. Join us for a morning of photography, community, and real skill-building.

With our July theme of Editing That Sells, we're going out with purpose.

You'll be given five mini challenges on the day, each one designed to give you the raw material you need to practise the editing skills that make images usable, marketable, and worth buying.

Your five challenges on the day:

• Capture a shot that needs straightening

• Find a scene with difficult shadows

• Shoot something with a distracting object to remove

• Find a subject where colour enhancement will make it shine

• Take one image that is begging to become black and white

Back home, you'll edit all five and submit a before-and-after set. Competition judging focuses on your editing skill, not just your eye for a great scene. That's where the real learning happens.

This event is perfect for you if you are:

• A beginner who wants to understand what good mobile editing actually looks like

• A hobbyist ready to take your images from casual to commercial

• Someone who has always wondered how to give your photos a consistent, polished look

What you'll learn:

How to shoot intentionally for the edit, and then how to follow through with natural, marketable adjustments that work on social media and stock platforms alike.

What to bring:

• Comfortable shoes: we'll be walking.

• Your mobile phone, fully charged.

• Dress for the weather. There will be both indoor and outdoor shooting opportunities.

Entrance is free. Experienced @Photopreneur members will be on hand throughout the morning to guide, encourage, and help you level up your skills in real time.
